Advertisement and the death of individuality

After completeing my essay on the semiotics of an advertisement, i felt so negative about how the media rules us as human beings. It can literally change our opinions and personalities through excessiveness and compulsiveness.
Advertising sells more than just products, it sells cultural representations and values in relation to success and sexuality.
Did you know that aparently 95% of the content in womens magazines are advertisements?
I spose its easy to agree when you think about it. Whats the point in buying one what a waste of money!

I know im definetely prone to media brainwash, we have to be to kinda function in society since were all sheep and follow eachother. The deal is, were inclined to fear the idea that we will not be enviable so we constantly try and look for ways to be glamourous. The newest fashion, newest scent, amazing car etc.

Were also pretty much brainwashed to think that only celebs are the cool ones theyve been named glamourous and what they wear and do HAS to be cool. In my opinion theyre just the same if not sporting less interesting personalities. when was the last time you saw Britney Spears do something inspiring rather than chaotic, and why do i care that Jessica Simpson has gained ten pounds?

I find bloggers are much more interesting people. People with opinions and individual ideas and creations.
