Forgiveness and Acceptance

One of the things that makes it hard to forgive and accept is the fact that we all romanticise the past.

For some reason we tend to remember good over bad.
I only remember being better, stronger skinnier, happier than i actually was.

So living in the now is definitely beneficial for my mental health.

WINZ, you're full of it

Our Government income support system sucks.

It pretty supports lazy people while the working class hauls ass and pays tax's!

I know of alot of people who live off the benefit never looking for a job and bludge as a lifestyle.

It pisses me off.

You know why it pisses me off?

Because im studying to get a good career which will eventuate in bringing dosh into the economy right...
Im doing something with my life along with alot of others,

Ive been working and paying tax's since 2005.

Im entitled to a Student Allowance to accomodate for weekly costs like Train ($36), Board ($80),Gas ($30) and food and other groceries.

You get more depending on your situation.
I only get this because my parents earn a certain amount. If your parents earn more you miss out.

Soooo...you miss out, its not like your parents will give you that money if they earn more...those students suffer hard i have to say.

I have an allowance of $160 p/w which doesnt cover anything so i have a part time job to compensate.

I got a letter in the mail today pretty much saying that The Minitry of whatever didnt know i was working and therefore i need to give them details about how much ive been earining...

DUDE i told them i had a job after i applied! So obviously someone hasnt done there job and changed how much ive been recieving which im gathering means ill have some massive lump sum to cough up.

Fuck Off.

More money towards another lazy un-educated lounge at home mum.
Seems its easier to get money by sitting on your ass.

Which Target Audience are you?

VALS = Values and Lifestyles

VALS Diagram

Today at uni we learnt about Behaviourism and this i found rather interesting.

According to advertising we are all subjects to being classified into certain target audience groups, which allow us to be moulded so that products appeal to stereotypical ideals from the groups.

I linked the test so you can find out what group you are.

I am a Innovator/Experiencer, which i have to say i agree with.

Innovators

Innovators are successful, sophisticated, take-charge people with high self-esteem. Because they have such abundant resources, they exhibit all three primary motivations in varying degrees. They are change leaders and are the most receptive to new ideas and technologies. Innovators are very active consumers, and their purchases reflect cultivated tastes for upscale, niche products and services.
Image is important to Innovators, not as evidence of status or power but as an expression of their taste, independence, and personality. Innovators are among the established and emerging leaders in business and government, yet they continue to seek challenges. Their lives are characterized by variety. Their possessions and recreation reflect a cultivated taste for the finer things in life.

Thinkers

Thinkers are motivated by ideals. They are mature, satisfied, comfortable, and reflective people who value order, knowledge, and responsibility. They tend to be well educated and actively seek out information in the decision-making process. They are well-informed about world and national events and are alert to opportunities to broaden their knowledge.
Thinkers have a moderate respect for institutions of authority and social decorum but are open to consider new ideas. Although their incomes allow them many choices, Thinkers are conservative, practical consumers; they look for durability, functionality, and value in the products that they buy.

Believers

Like Thinkers, Believers are motivated by ideals. They are conservative, conventional people with concrete beliefs based on traditional, established codes: family, religion, community, and the nation. Many Believers express moral codes that have deep roots and literal interpretation. They follow established routines, organized in large part around home, family, community, and social or religious organizations to which they belong.
As consumers, Believers are predictable; they choose familiar products and established brands. They favor U.S. products and are generally loyal customers.

Achievers

Motivated by the desire for achievement, Achievers have goal-oriented lifestyles and a deep commitment to career and family. Their social lives reflect this focus and are structured around family, their place of worship, and work. Achievers live conventional lives, are politically conservative, and respect authority and the status quo. They value consensus, predictability, and stability over risk, intimacy, and self-discovery.
With many wants and needs, Achievers are active in the consumer marketplace. Image is important to Achievers; they favor established, prestige products and services that demonstrate success to their peers. Because of their busy lives, they are often interested in a variety of time-saving devices.

Strivers

Strivers are trendy and fun loving. Because they are motivated by achievement, Strivers are concerned about the opinions and approval of others. Money defines success for Strivers, who don't have enough of it to meet their desires. They favor stylish products that emulate the purchases of people with greater material wealth. Many Strivers see themselves as having a job rather than a career, and a lack of skills and focus often prevents them from moving ahead.
Strivers are active consumers because shopping is both a social activity and an opportunity to demonstrate to peers their ability to buy. As consumers, they are as impulsive as their financial circumstance will allow.

Experiencers

Experiencers are motivated by self-expression. Young, enthusiastic, and impulsive consumers, Experiencers quickly become enthusiastic about new possibilities but are equally quick to cool. They seek variety and excitement, savoring the new, the offbeat, and the risky. Their energy finds an outlet in exercise, sports, outdoor recreation, and social activities.
Experiencers are avid consumers and spend a comparatively high proportion of their income on fashion, entertainment, and socializing. Their purchases reflect the emphasis that they place on looking good and having "cool" stuff.

Makers

Like Experiencers, Makers are motivated by self-expression. They express themselves and experience the world by working on it—building a house, raising children, fixing a car, or canning vegetables—and have enough skill and energy to carry out their projects successfully. Makers are practical people who have constructive skills and value self-sufficiency. They live within a traditional context of family, practical work, and physical recreation and have little interest in what lies outside that context.
Makers are suspicious of new ideas and large institutions such as big business. They are respectful of government authority and organized labor but resentful of government intrusion on individual rights. They are unimpressed by material possessions other than those with a practical or functional purpose. Because they prefer value to luxury, they buy basic products.

Survivors

Survivors live narrowly focused lives. Because they have few resources with which to cope, they often believe that the world is changing too quickly. They are comfortable with the familiar and are primarily concerned with safety and security. Because they must focus on meeting needs rather than fulfilling desires, Survivors do not show a strong primary motivation.
Survivors are cautious consumers. They represent a very modest market for most products and services. They are loyal to favorite brands, especially if they can purchase them at a discount.

Is Manifestation or The Law Of Attraction Some Supernatural Ability?

Our natural reaction when we hear about this “manifestation” or “law of attraction” stuff is most commonly one of outright disbelief, even annoyance that someone could try to sell such a silly concept.

Ask me how I know…I felt that way too.

Here’s the thing, I made this decision early on to find people who had the results I wanted and model what they did. So I checked out some of the people teaching this weird stuff . Crazily, most of them did have the results I wanted – we’re talking health, relationships and financial results.

Now, no one is perfect. Life is a process. We’re all working towards ideals right. But, after some serious investigation, it was pretty clear to me, that the guys and girls teaching this stuff had it a LOT better than most.

So I indulged them.

I had also decided that when trying anything new, I would put my current beliefs on the shelf and give their stuff a whole-hearted try. This means, assuming what they say is true as best I can, do what they’re preaching and judge the results myself.

So that’s exactly what I did. To be honest, the results came very quickly, but I didn’t realize that the new stuff I was doing was what caused the awesome results. It took me a bit of experimenting, dropping it, re-experimenting etc. to look back and realize that every time I did certain things, certain results would follow (hopefully you’re not as stubborn). Also, it’s kind of deceptive, because the results come in such a “natural” manner that you can easily convince yourself that it would have happened anyway.

That’s actually tied into a crucial NLP concept. Our map of reality will only “allow” the results to occur in a manner that’s believable to us.

Now is this some kind of supernatural effect or what?

Supernatural according to the Princeton dictionary: “not existing in nature or subject to explanation to natural laws”.

Using that definition then the categorical answer is “No, this is not supernatural.”

Here’s the thing about science and “natural laws”, they change. They are just a model, our best explanation of why things happen the way they do. Modern science (and by modern I mean like 1970’s+) and the advent of quantum physics has ample scope to explain the results we get from doing this stuff.

Unfortunately, we were all taught Newtonian physics at school. It’s probably not their fault, I’m not sure many of us wouldn’t enjoy the intricacies of quantum and other more modern (and professionally accepted) models of the universe.

Now, as brilliant as you and I may be, it’s probably not the smartest thing for me to try to explain it all right here – not to mention my understanding is far from perfect. What I can however do, is point you to three resources that will absolutely blow your mind on what is and what isn’t possible. Here are my top three picks:

• Lynne McTaggart – The Field

• Lynne McTaggart – The Intention Experiment

• Rupert Sheldrake – Morphic Resonance

Agreed Lauren, Agreed.

"Im just a normal girl who is comfortable with who she is. I dont believe in changing yourself for anybody and i think its important for girls to be comfortable with themselves as much as possible. Sometimes i look at what really young girls wear and i cant believe it- I have underwear that covers more than what some of them have on! I think its important that girls know they can be Attractive and sexy in a classy way and guys actually like that more than when they see girls who show alot of skin. For me, i like clothes and i like to wear them to cover up." - Lauren Conrad

Whatever happens to you, whatever happens to me. I know that ill fall asleep knowing that youll always be.The Story With No Ending

You know that feeling when a song comes on and it takes you back to an exact moment.

I feel myself go right back to a certain time or place or situation and feel exaclty the same whether it be good or bad.

In Good, im immediately smiling which can appear creepy to anyone around. I gaze up and remember the good stuff. A warm caressing feeling wraps around me and i feel at ease.

In bad, I even get that sinking feeling and my stomach goes into a knot.
Certain smells and tastes come to mind, i remember what im wearing, hearing and saying and it feels fast paced and i dont have control.

And then i wonder. Do these memories matter to anyone else?

New Zealand.....Why Not?

When i think of New Zealand i think its pretty awesome.
Actually its amazing, people really dont appreciate what we have here.

Aside from the fact that its bloody beautiful. I think our music rocks.

When i think of New Zealand i dont think Lord of the Rings or Flight of The Conchords....I think Roots.

Roots music is the backbone of a classic New Zealand summer. Its music to relax to, party to, sing to, dance to.

Drum n bass is amazing in my opinion. I dont know which other countries that love DnB
(apart from england, thanku for netsky n camo/crooked)

Ive listed a selection of New Zealand bands and their Youtube links for you to check out. My Personal fav is Shapeshifter.

Sponsor a child

Speaking about impulse.

This is Fred Kapungwe (13/04/2006) my sponsor child from Zambia that i acquired on my way to uni.

I saw the Child Fund stand that i usually walk faster past looking straight ahead with my earphones in, and i thought why not?

I got to choose him he had a lil profile.

"Fred stays with his single mother together with his sister and brother. His mother works hard to try to provide for her children. She is a marketeer who sells tomatoes and vegetables. the income she earns is not enough to meet the family daily needs hence seeking support. They are Tonga by tribe and belong to the New Apostolic church. Fred is in pre-school and likes to draw. He has fair health and enjoys playing ball games. Your love and support will bless this needy child"

I pretty much chose him cause he's cute and likes to draw. I can write him letters as well and he can write me back :)

You'll never know.....if you dont give it a go

Im one of those people who will go to The Warehouse to buy a pair of socks, and come out with a "Lifetime warrantee 6 set of forever sharp knives".

A total impulse buyer.

Lucky for me yesterday i left my wallet at mums so i didnt order, youthful essence and the ab circle pro.

I shouldnt watch infomercials, and i shouldnt have access to money in general. But my theory is im open minded so this gaget could change my life...or im just really naïve....
(clicks ad to cart*)

It's discusting

These holidays for me have been about unwinding, relaxing, getting my eating right and improving my physical activity.

Lets be honest, I get up, I eat, i workout.....and then i linger around the house in my gym gear..

Its actually discusting.

I mean i KNOW its discusting, but the fact of the matter is, im lazy and i can do what i want.
Today is probably the day i should maybe have a shower straight after, the sweat smell is giving me a headache.

Dont judge me :)

Charity Work

Today I emailed Unicef to see what kinda volunteer work people can get involved in.
I initially wanted to go to africa and work with under priviliged children (i love africans). But dad said "its dangerous blah blah why dont you help your own country first"...

Well. It was kinda an excuse to travel/do stuff to take my mind off lachlan being away for ten months/ make a difference/ i like africans for some reason (like i said).

So well see what happens.

Life somehow revolves around alcohol

Its funny.

As soon as were legal to drink (or before) we use every excuse to get on it.

Birthdays, weddings, farewells, funerals, work dinners, weekends, week nights....

the only way to socialise yeah?

We give eachother alcohol as gifts and invite people out for drinks or shout a beer...

flag, id rather have a 'thing'

Im not totaly knocking it, i drink on occassion but it just seems a little un-original, limiting and quite frankly unhealthy...

Thoughts of 08

Only when you change the way you feel about yourself and fully understand how amazing you are, can you change the way the world percieves you and beautiful things will start to pave your way to infinite happiness

I shop therefore i am- Barbara Kruger

A painting i did for my room last year, i'm painting over it soon to make way for a more intense painting with rich reds.

This was inspired by Barbara Kruger/ my obsession with karen walker (you can kinda see the runaway girl in the background)
